Q: Why do you advertise for competitors?
In many cases these people advertise our site as well, and even if they don't, end-users of financial sites often subscribe to more than one site. In effect, there isn't as much competition for resources as there might be in markets where there is a 1:1 correspondence between users and service.....such as a long distance carrier, for example.
Also, many of the services offer predictions of different investment vehicles, and they do so over different time horizons. This means that the predictions over a range of sites actually can end up complementing each other rather than resulting in competition for end users. For example, some of the services offer qualitative or descriptive analysis of the broader market over 3-6 months verses another site that may predict the OEX index over 2 days. Very different end users will be interested in these disparate services.
Finally, the list generates advertising for our site as well as some associates. We list, for example, the SHORT TERM STOCK SELECTOR as a site that should be taken advantage of. There are others that deserve attention as well. In some case, these site may be pay sites, but we list to drive users to their sites, in order to return favors done for us. Often these sites list ours in a similar fashion, as does the STSS site.
Q: Why do you include a small number of 'pay' sites?
See above. These sites have helped us in some way usually, or continue to provide some service to us. We try and help them by advertising their site. Also, on occasion, the site offeres something that we consider unique, that that we think others would be interested in.
Q: What is your legal affiliation with these other site?
There is none. We are not responsible for content of other sites in any way, any more than any site is on the WWW that keeps link list.
Q: Can I suggest a link?
Yes, but please read the criteria for adding a link, that follows on the next page.....
Q: Why do you keep dead links?
Periodically a link will disapear. In this case, we may keep it for a while in the hope that you, the end user, may locate the new link and tell us about it. We don't sped a lot of time checking the links, so any help you can provide on updating the links would be appreciated -- drop us an email if you find a dead link. In any case, the percentage of dead links is very small.
Also, on occasion, a link will be inactive for a long period of time. If the service looked interesting to us, we keep it in the hope that the site will recover and start providing a service again. If we were to delete the link, we would probably forget about the site entirely.
Q: How offten do you add links?
Very rarely when we are busy, but periodically we'll surf the web with key word queries designed to find site that we might want to list. You can tell from the dates that we do this in stages or spurts, then don't update or add new links for a while. You can suggest a link but please review the acceptance criteria that follows.
